Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis sent a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner, outlining the successes of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to date. The letter also warned Congress that millions of Americans would lose the protections the ACA currently provides in the event of any attempts to dismantle or repeal the law.

In a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) notified Congress that the recently-introduced bill aimed at repealing the Afforadable Care Act (ACA) would add approximately $230 billion to federal deficits during the years 2012 - 2021. CBO also estimates that the bill, H.R. 2: Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act, would increase the number of uninsured Americans by 32 million over the next decade.
In a keynote speech to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement forum in Orlando, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius touted opportunities for delivery system reform created by the Affordable Care Act. "The law is ... a serious platform for improving the quality of health care and changing the delivery system so we stop doing things that don’t work for patients and starting doing things which do work," she said. "It’s about better care: care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered."
