The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has announced $2.25 billion to extend the existing Money Follows the Person Rebalancing Demonstration Program, which is designed to facilitate people with disabilities staying in their communities instead of being placed in institutional settings. The new grant solicitation is designed to encourage states not already participating in the program to enroll. The health reform law also provides opportunities for those already participating to expand their programs.
